Kohl’s provided me with Kohl’s Gifts for my review. All opinions are my own.

For the last 4+ years, our house has been on and off the market. We have had a few showings and some open houses to try to find the right buyers. We usually hear the same comment from potential buyers, they like the house, but aren’t real sure about the location. Location, location, location! I obviously can’t change the location of our house. What I can do, is make the house and yard so darn cute, that the buyers won’t be able to resist the house and will forget about the neighborhood distractions.

In each room of our house, there are things that I would love to change. When I was given the opportunity to work with Kohl’s, I decided that this was the perfect time to concentrate on our entryway. Here is what it looked like:

I recently inherited two chairs that were my grandmother’s and great aunt’s. I remember sitting in them as a young girl. Now I get to have them in my home and my daughters can sit in them. I wanted them to remain right inside our front door. They are black metal with a black and white tweed seat. I went to Kohl’s in search of a coat rack, rug and perhaps wall décor.

First I found my coat rack. It is the Vintage 5-Hook Metal Wall Rack, made by Belle Maison. It has a French market/vintage style, that I am in love with. It is patina green in color and has five coat hooks, each adorned with a white decorative ball.

Next, I wanted to find a new entryway rug. With all the potential buyers coming into our house, I wanted to have a soft rug for them to stand on while they take their shoes off and put them back on. I also needed something to be durable so that it would stand up to our day-to-day use. I chose a Home Classics Ribcord accent rug in ash heather color. This rug is made in the USA, is stain resistant, machine washable, fade resistant and has skid resistant latex backing.

One of the first things you see when entering our house is a small wall that is between our kitchen and bathroom. Over the years I have displayed framed photos and a wall decal here but I never felt like they really “fit.” I was in search of something that would catch attention, match our home décor and would help that wall to “flow” with the rest of our kitchen area. I found Stratton Home Décor leaf metal wall art. It has black branches with neutral shades of leaves. I couldn’t find this specific item on the Kohl’s website, but the Metal Floral Wall Decor is similar.

Finally, with all of the amazing sales at Kohl’s I still had money left over. I decided to invest in two throw pillows that helped tie our new entryway coat rack to our front room…the rooms are adjacent to one another. I found Mini Cobble Chenille decorative pillows in mineral blue color. Even though the color names were different, they were the same color as our coat rack. They were soft and a great size for our couch. It was perfect.

I couldn’t have been any happier about my Kohl’s findings. They helped me stage our front entryway for potential buyers. They also gave the house a fresh look for spring. Now I NEED to focus on our master bedroom!
