I’ve kind of been bitten by the subscription box bug. It’s so fun to get boxes full of surprise goodies each month. I’ve enjoyed trying out boxes from various product categories. I had heard great things about Citrus Lane from other bloggers and vloggers, but hadn’t tried it out until this month. Citrus Lane is a subscription box for children, based on their age. Items included might include toys, personal care products, accessories and more. The boxes often include indie brands that offer products that are recycled, ecofriendly, natural or otherwise unique from what you might find in stores in your area. For me, a big part of the excitement that comes from subscription boxes is discovering brands and products that I wouldn’t have heard of on my own.

I had this months subscription box delivered with my niece Kelsie in mind. She turned 1 on March 16th, so she turned 13 months yesterday. I’m not sure if this is based onĀ 12 month olds or 13 month olds, but either way, everything in the box is great for her current stage of development. Her box had five items inside.

We got a four pack of snack bowls from the Green Toys brand. The bowls are made from 100% recycled plastic and they are small and lightweight, making them perfect for toddlers to carry around. They are dishwasher safe but are not microwave safe. They are BPA, phthalates and melamine free, and are made in the USA. ($12.56 on Amazon).

We also got a trial sized bottle of Meyers clean day dish soap. I was excited to see that it did not leak (although they did wrap it in plastic just in case). The bottle is biodegradable, the product is never tested on animals, and advertise themselves as being tough on grease and gentle on the earth. The bottle is small but it will be plenty to do a few loads of dishes with so I can get a feel for the brand and product. (Not available for individual purchase, so unsure of value)

We also got a card that has a code for a free greeting card order at treat.com, which offers personalized photo greeting cards. With mother’s day right around the corner, this would be a perfect way to make a card for grandma! (Roughly $3.49 value)

We also got a toy car from Green Toys. I love that it is pink because you don’t see pink toy cars very often. Kelsie’s brother is 3.5 and completely car-obsessed, so she is really familiar with toy cars and loves them as well. The Race Car that we got from Green Toys is lightweight but fairly big so it will be easy for her to get ahold of and push around. The car is made from 100% recycled plastic and is made in the USA. ($6.27 on Amazon.)

The last item in our box was “Who’s In The Garden” by Phillis Gershator. This is a peek-a-boo book from Barefoot Books. It’s a normal sized book but the pages are cardboard, so Kelsie won’t be able to do much damage to it. Most of the pages have circles cut out so that the page behind it “peeks” through. The pages are really bright and cheery. I’m sure both Kelsie & Drew will enjoy reading this with me. (11.61 on Amazon).

In total, our box had a $33.93 value and that isn’t including the dish soap because I am not sure what value that has. Subscribing is usually $29 per month but if you use my link when you sign up, you’ll save 50%, making your first box $14.50 with free shipping. Your subscription will automatically renew, so if you just want to try it out for one month, sign up and then immediately email them to have your subscription cancelled. This way, you’ll still get your first month “test drive” but won’t risk being charged a second time if you forget to cancel later.

Do you subscribe to Citrus Lane? What is your favorite product or brand that you’ve received in your subscription box?
