Absorbine Woof Pouf odor eliminating shampoo for dogs

When I was a child my mom had this big dog that absolutely hated water. In general she was a laid back dog, but bath time required multiple adults and was a physically and emotionally exhausting chore. I remember being so relieved the first time that I tried to bathe my two dogs when they didn’t put up much of a fight. Both of my dogs comply with bath time for the most part. The only time they try to get out or cry is if I stop interacting with them for too long which happens if I lose track of the rinsing cup, shampoo, towel or bath brush.

Absorbine has created a new and innovative way to bathe your pets that makes the process really quick and easy. Absorbine Woof Poufs are very similar to an adult loofah, except they have soap beads trapped in the pouf. When you wet the Woof Pouf and massage the pouf it lathers up and you can use it to scrub your dog. This eliminates the need for shampoo or a bath brush which simplifies the process. Woof Poufs come in two varieties – UltraShield® and ShowSheen®. The UltraSheild Pouf is designed with natural herbal extracts so it works as a natural flea & tick shampoo that repeal fleas and ticks. The ShowSheen® pouf  is for general dirty/stinky dogs, and includes Ordenone® which is an odor eliminating shampoo has really powerful odor-fighting abilities, so it can even be used to get rid of skunk smell! Both varieties are designed to last up to 15 washes per pouf. You can tell when the woof pouf has been used up because the beads will slowly disintegrate with use.

I decided to try the ShowSheen pouf on Beans one day after she was out rolling in some stinky weeds. I expected the Ordenone to be very strong smelling but it was not. It doesn’t have much of a scent to it, just a light soap or clean type scent, but it did a great job of getting rid of the stinky weed smell that Beans had gotten on her. Instead of just covering up odors, it actually breaks them down which is why it works so well. It was nice to be able to use the Pouf in one hand and hold her in place with the other. I was able to lather the pouf by simply rubbing it up against her body.

If your dog goes with you for hikes or walks through the woods or gets messy in other ways, the woof poufs can even be used outside with just your water hose so you can avoid tracking mud inside.

After washing Beans the soap beads looked exactly the same size as when we started, so I think it will last us through several washes as advertised. I have been lucky enough to have my pets avoid skunks, but I knwo how hard skunk smell can be to get rid of so I’ll be keeping a ShowSeen woof pouf on hand for skunk odor elimination just in case my dogs ever get sprayed.

Win it: A 10 pack of Woof Poufs in winners choice of ShowSheen or UltraShield (plus other products from that line!). Giveaway will end October 10th at midnight. Open to the US!
