River Street Sweets sent products for inclusion in my gift guide. All opinions are my own.

I give at least one or two people on my Christmas list treat or dessert related gifts each year. When I have someone on my list who doesn’t need anything that I know of, yummy snacks are a great choice because almost anyone appreciates treats.

River Street Sweets offers gourmet snacks and treats that work really well as Christmas gifts. They have entire sections for popcorn, pralines, cakes, fudge, taffy and more. They also have several gift assortments that include a variety of their snacks.

In 2015, River Street Sweets combined forces with Savannah’s Candy Kitchen to create River Street Sweets•Savannah’s Candy Kitchen. It’s a marriage of two well-known and highly respected Southern candy brands based in Savannah, Georgia.

Siblings Jennifer and Tim Strickland operate River Street Sweets, and just down the street, their father Stan Strickland operates Savannah’s Candy Kitchen. After having been in the candy business for more than 40 years and collectively operating more than a dozen locations, the family companies reunited today to offer a franchise opportunity that provides franchise owners and operators the ability to develop their own handmade candy and ice cream franchise business.

River Street snacks

I was sent a few items to test out and my household enjoyed each one. We were sent a gourmet popcorn tin – the gourmet holiday popcorn trio. This is a holiday-themed tin has butter popcorn, cheddar cheese popcorn and caramel popcorn. The individual pieces of popcorn are all generously sized and the flavor is great. The caramel popcorn has a great texture as well – it’s not too hard or too sticky.

Nuts are one of Ryan’s favorite types of snacks and they are pretty diet-friendly. The Nutty Favorites tin is a great choice because it includes seven types of nuts, some of which are chocolate covered. Ryan enjoyed six of the seven types, and the type he didn’t care for was just a type of nut that he doesn’t like so that was to be expected. This tray would be great for setting on a snack table during holiday gatherings for everyone to snack from or as a gift.

River street sweets grab basket

The last item that we were sent was the grab basket. The grab baskets are available in three sizes, depending on how much product you want and/or how many people you are trying to serve with the basket. The grab basket that serves 2-3 people includes world-famous pralines, milk chocolate bear claws, crunchy glazed pecans, hand-stretched peanut brittle and a fluffy nougat log roll. My household loved the bear claws, pralines, pecans and hand stretched peanut butter but the ultimate favorite was the bear claws. They were unique from any other treat that any of us had tried. The fluffy nougat log roll was unique for us as well, it seemed like the inside was similar to a marshmallow and the outside was covered in nuts. The combination of textures was odd but the flavor was alright. It was fun to get to try tasty treats that were new for us.

We were pleased with our choices overall. This is just a small sampling of the variety that River Street Sweets offers. If you have someone on your list with a sweet tooth or just a snack lover check out the River Street Sweets website.

I love to look at all the gift candy available. I sent my folks a box of chocolates from here in LA for Easter and they received it today. It’s 70 to 80 here but only 40 degrees there so it didn’t melt!
