I was sent an Origami Owl necklace for review. All opinions are my own.

When it comes to Mother’s Day, a lot of us consider jewelry when coming up with a list of potential gift ideas for mom. My mom and my mother-in-law both love jewelry. I love the concept of Origami Owl living lockets because they let the necklace be customized to the owner, making it truly unique and allow it to suit their individual taste. The living lockets themselves come in a variety of shapes and metal types, but they all have open faces that you put charms into. Charms tons of designs including letters, birthstones, sports, hobbies and more. If you want, you can choose an assortment of charms that show off different aspects of your personality or interests!

I decided to create a Living Locket for my mom for mother’s day. I chose a Silver Teardrop locket,and five charms to fit inside. The listing said it can fit 4-6 charms, depending on the size of the charm. The 5 charms that I chose fit nicely into the locket. The side of the locket has a small indent so you can slide the tip of your finger in to open it and add or remove charms. It is also magnetic so it will stay shut while being worn.

I chose charms that I thought represented my mom and her interests so that each charm had a special meaning. She likes to garden which was my reason for choosing the watering can charm. Her husband (my step-dad) drives a stock car at a local race track, so I chose a race car charm to represent him. It even worked out that it had the right number (02) on it which was pretty neat. My mom loves animals and has rescued many in her lifetime, so I chose a paw print charm for her fur-babies. She has many grandchildren and is active in their lives, which was my reason for choosing a heart charm that was engraved with the word grandma. The last charm was a green tractor which I chose because her parents were farmers, so that was a big part of her childhood and they were partial to the John Deere brand that is known for their green tractors.

Plus, I like knowing that she can buy herself additional charms that appeal to her so that she can change the look of the locket on different days. When she can take the necklace and alter it to her needs that makes it more personal for her while also making it something she can wear with any outfit.
