pull ups personality potty training quiz

For the most part, potty training tips and advice articles seem to include a lot of the same advice. How many times have you heard “Don’t stress it!” “Each child works on their own timeline.” “Make it fun!” and “Expect accidents, just keep going.”

Of course, most parents would say this is all really solid advice. That doesn’t mean that you won’t have days during the potty training journey where you’re a little less patient than you planned to be. Maybe your child regresses after a period of success, maybe you keep repeating the same information to your child only for them to not seem to really ‘get it’ yet, or maybe you have an accident out of the blue for what seems like no reason. Or, maybe your little one has been potty trained during the day for months but still hasn’t managed to stay dry at night. All of this can be frustrating!

So, instead of giving you more advice, I’m coming to you with some neat resources that you can rely on at various parts of your potty training journey.

It’s funny how each child trains in a different style. Kelsie was resistant to giving up diapers for quite a while, it felt like. When Royce was born she was 2 years and 6 months old. It seem so common to hear stories about toddlers regressing or just not being interested in potty training if they have a newborn sibling in the house, so I thought Royce being born might delay her. Surprisingly, it seemed to almost have the opposite effect. She really embraced being an older sister and was suddenly ready to potty train when Royce was about a month old. It felt like she had a big emotional change almost overnight, where she suddenly had a strong desire to use the potty, which was great. However, the desire to learn didn’t mean that accidents don’t happen, because they were pretty frequent for the first few weeks, and still occur now, though the accidents get fewer and farther between over time. Pull-Ups® Training Pants are a really convenient way to potty train without as much mess.

Pull-Ups® training pants come in sizes 2T-3T or 4T-5T, and in different cartoon designs that will appeal to toddlers and preschoolers. Kelsie loves Doc McStuffin so I love that one of the girls cartoon options is Doc McStuffins.

Once you’ve picked up your Pull-Ups® training pants at a great price, you are protected from accidents so you can relax a little knowing you’re less likely to end up with pee on the carpet. Woo hoo!

The next step is to make the process fun for your little one. A great way to start is by getting excited about each positive step in the journey. Don’t wait until your little one successfully uses the potty to celebrate. If she asks to use the potty, that’s a great first step! Use this chart to keep track of all the little victories along the way.

View and print this potty training sticker chart. Use stickers or let your little one mark off her success using a crayon to make it more fun.

Also create bigger goals that will call for larger celebrations. These goals might be going on the potty for the first time, going all day without an accident, using the potty while away from home, or using the potty for #2. When these bigger goals are reached, celebrate in a big way by printing off this reward ribbon. Let your little one show off their award to close family members or friends as well.

The last step is to be prepared for set-backs or rough days. When you or your little one are feeling a bit discouraged (or just lacking enthusiasm!) about the potty training process, use games to make it fun again. Visit the Pull-Ups Potty Training Games website for printables and resources that you can use with your little one to make potty training fun. Resources include a potty timer to remind you and your little one to have regular potty breaks, personality quizes like What Is Your Potty Training Personality? and games like Which Is Faster and even a scavenger hunt!

I didn’t know pull-ups had resources like that. I was just trying to help my sister find something for my nephew the other day. I’ll share this with her!

Thank you so much for sharing about the Dollar General program! I will definitely be signing up, as I have 2 that I’m potty training right now! 🙂 I love the new pull ups too, they are the only training pants that fit my big-hipped children lol! Plus the cute Disney characters are a huge hit with the littles as well.
