I didn’t realize until a couple of years ago that Best Buy sells appliances. Last November I purchased a dryer from Best Buy and I’ve been really happy with my purchase. Best Buy offers a variety of appliances that come with the ENERGY STAR® certification because they are committed to offering sustainable products. As a result, they provide a wide range of products that are sustainable. Products that are labeled as ENERGY STAR have met certain guidelines that show they use reduced energy and as a result are better for the environment. In addition to being better for the environment, they can also save you money on your utility bill because they use less energy to run.

In particular, Best Buy has several Sound Bars and dryers that are ENERGY STAR certified. If you aren’t familiar with Sound Bars, they are a type of speaker system that can enhance your experience while watching TV, that don’t require the commitment of a full surround-sound system. ENERGY STAR sound bars are up to 50% more efficient than conventional models.

They also have several ENERGY STAR dryers to choose from. They start at just $499. ENERGY STAR dryers use 20% less energy to operate, without compromising features or performance. Features like moisture sensors make this possible, by detecting when clothing is dry and automatically shutting off. If all dryers sold in the US were ENERGY STAR we would save $1.5 billion in utility costs. Plus, rebates are often available for smart home products and appliances. See if there is a rebate available in your area.

In 2015, the total amount of ENERGY STAR products sold from Best Buy could collectively save enough energy to power 70,538 households for a year! In 2015, Best Buy customers purchased enough Sound Bar and Audio Equipment that was ENERGY STAR certified to collectively help prevent so much greenhouse gas emissions as is equal to removing 2,013 cars from the road for an entire year!

I shopped Best Buy when they first started carrying appliances years ago and was really pleased with them. We got our washer and dryer there nd a bit later our refrigerator. I like how they are here in town, and how responsive they are if there is trouble. Their people there are very knowledgable too.

I know my old TV is not energy efficient and probably emitting bad things in my air, lol, but I haven’t decided if I want to replace it or just go without TV. I do love all the higher tech home appliances out now.

As my appliances die, I plan to replace them with Energy Star appliances. Everything is pretty much the same age, so I worry they will all die at the same time.

  • I have almost all Energy Star appliances (and yes, we buy most of them at Best Buy too!). It just makes sense.
