I was sent a Bully Bundle for review. All opinions are my own.

I think of my dogs as part of the family, and for me all holidays are family time. I know many pet owners feel similarly, yet it’s easy to get caught up in the holiday’s and for your time with your pet to be diminished. We don’t usually host any holidays at our house, so we visit Ryan’s family and my family at other houses. As a result, our dogs get left home most of the time. However, even if you are the host, it’s possible that your pet is getting less time with you because there are so many other people around. Plus, hosting a huge responsibility that requires a lot of prep so you’ll be pretty busy leading up to the event.

5 ways to help your pets enjoy the holidays

Here are 5 ways to help your pets enjoy the holidays.

  1. Include something special for them. For Thanksgiving, consider feeding them a new variety or type of food compared to their normal routine. My dogs rarely get canned food so that is an easy way to make Thanksgiving special for them.
  2. If they will be left home alone for much of a day, try giving them extra attention before you leave. I make sure we get our walk and play time in before we leave so they aren’t stuck at home with all that pent up energy.
  3. If you have guests over to your home, consider their stress levels. I have one dog who loves people including those he doesn’t know well enough to remember. He loves when visitors come over, especially if they will pet him or let him sit near them. My other dog is often anxious when meeting new people, or when the noise level is higher than usual. For her, I would crate her in my bedroom (away from all visitors) to keep her happier.
  4. If you are spending a night away from home with your pet, bring comfort items. My dogs have a plush toy that they drag everywhere, so I bring it with us when we travel. Others might prefer a certain blanket, their bed or their crate.
  5. Use bully sticks to keep them busy. When my dogs get a little anxious, a bully stick is a great way to distract them for 45+ minutes at a time. They never chew on toys for that long, so bully sticks are my go-to option for a positive distraction.

BullyBundles.com offer a really convenient way to purchase bully sticks. I posted a Bully Bundles Review back in April. Their bully sticks are really uniform in size, and are never too thin. They come in 6 or 12 inch lengths. The 6 inch length is generously sized for my pugs who are around 25 pounds. They never finish an entire bully stick in one setting, they usually chew for 45 minutes to an hour and then give up with a few inches left. They have been incredibly useful for getting my dogs settled back down after we arrive at a destination like a campground or my family cabin.

Win it: A 15 pack of 6″ bully sticks from Bully Bundles! A $34 value. Giveaway is open to the US and will end 11/19/2016 at 11:59pm EST.

These are great holiday pet tips. We consider pets part of the family and love pampering them with gifts like these.

Trying to find a treat for my dog is difficult. He is very playful and chews through everything! I’ve heard good things about bully sticks before and this review was helpful. Might have to give these a try!
