Thank you to HALO  for providing me with a SleepSack Big Kids, free of charge, for review.  These are my own honest opinions.

I can’t sleep without being covered up. Even when it’s super hot, I still need a lightweight sheet to cover or else I can’t sleep. However, in an effort to keep babies and kids safe, blankets are not recommended for children any more..  Licensed daycares in Minnesota are even banned from using them in their daycare settings now.   HALO Innovations SleepSack wearable blankets have now become the standard for many hospital nurseries and parents. Over 1,000 hospitals are now using the HALO SleepSack Swaddle in place of blankets through the HALO Safer Way to Sleep Initiative program.  As your child grows from baby to toddler, HALO Innovations continues to offer safe sleeping options with the SleepSack Early Walker and SleepSack Big Kids.

HALO 1

I was sent the HALO Big Kids SleepSack Lightweight Knit Wearable Blanket in size 2-3T for my son to use.  Upon opening the package, I was pleasantly surprised at how lightweight and soft this product was.  Since I’ve never owned a SleepSack before, I wasn’t sure what to expect but I could tell right away that this was a quality made product.  The difference between the SleepSack Big Kids and SleepSack Early Walker and a Baby SleepSack is that these have holes for your child’s feet to go through so they still have mobility and the ability to walk.  As I held it up though, it looked very big.  Our blue SleepSack Wearable Blanket had an embroidered monster truck on it.  As soon as my son saw the truck, he insisted on putting the HALO Wearable Blanket on.  I had ordered the 2-3T size but perhaps I should have also taken into account the weight on it.  The 2-3T is good for children from 25-40 pounds.  My 2 1/2 year old is only about 25 pounds so this SleepSack Wearable Blanket is a bit large on him.  He was able to manage walking around in it but did struggle some.  I had my 8 year old put it on to compare.  She is small for her age and about 48 pounds but could still fit into this as well.  As you can see, it is getting a little small on her.  So I do suggest that you take into account the pounds as well as the age size when ordering.  I probably could have gotten by with the size medium Early Walker SleepSack Lightweight Knit Wearable Blanket.  I am still happy with the one we received as I know he will be able to use it for years to come.  Overall, we are happy with HALO’s SleepSack Big Kids and this is a great way to keep kids warm enough at night or during nap.
