After being sent the SitStay.com O Holy Meat gift set for Christmas, Frank & Beans (my pugs) fell in love with SitStay.com. I did, too. We even placed an order for some neat natural products like waddlers and paddlers, pumpers (hearts) etc after we did that review because the prices and quality were great. This time around, we were sent the Lots O’ Love bully stick jar. The jar contains 16 bully sticks that are roughly 9″ in length. They have a more natural feel to them than some other bully sticks that we’ve gotten before because they aren’t all shaped exactly the same. However, unlike some other brands, none of the bully sticks are incredibly thin or short. I laid the jar of bully sticks on the ground next to a quarter so that you can see but even the skinniest of the sticks was of reasonable size and they are all really close to the same length. These are from the brand Brown Beggers which is exclusive to SitStay.com and they are the same type that we got around Christmas. To date, I think we’ve tried at least eight different brands of bully sticks but these ones from Brown Beggers are in my dogs’ top two favorites.
The jars sell for $15.00 each which is roughly $1 per bully stick which is truly a great value. In fact, .99 a piece is the cheapest I’ve found for 6 inch bully sticks anywhere else, and these are 9 inch ones! They make a really great practical valentine’s day gift for Frank & Beans because I consider chews essential to have on hand for them because they are anxious dogs and having a good chew session really mellows them out, but the adorable jar (that is reusable!) makes their practical gift a fun one as well.

They are made from the “private part” of bulls, and are an alternative for rawhide type chews. I give them to my dogs instead of rawhide because dogs cannot digest rawhide, it just “passes through” the way that it is swallowed – which is okay if the dog chews the rawhide into small pieces but seems how dogs throats are bigger than their digestive tracks, dogs can swallow pieces that are too big to pass through so it creates a blockage and they have to have the rawhide surgically removed. My male dog tends to try to “inhale” his food, he tries to swallow as soon as possible – he often will try swallowing, gag, chew a tiny bit more, try again, gag again, chew a bit more, and then finally be successful at swallowing. So for him, rawhide would be really dangerous as he would almost certainly swallow pieces that are too big to pass through his digestive system.

This is a Valentine’s Day gift that my dog would LOVE! I hadn’t heard of Sitstay before, but I have to check them out! This would make my Odin one very happy dog.

That’s a new site for me too but I love to pamper the pets. Rawhide treats do slow them down so they don’t down the treats so fast. I love that jar for keeping the rawhide sticks in.
We just got a puppy so I like learning about different options for getting him treats. I’m not familiar with bully sticks before, will have to go to their site and check out what they are.
