Toys that encourage learning and imagination or that offer open ended play are my favorites.  One company that I have been a customer of for years now is Learning Resources.  I have found their products to be great quality and the learning behind them has been outstanding.  Back when I was doing daycare, Learning Resources was one of my favorite places to order from.  Even though I no longer do daycare, I have found the resources and products offered by Learning Resources to be invaluable for our own children and I was thrilled to partner with Learning Resources for this review and giveaway.

I received the Mini Muffin Match Up from Learning Resources.  This Muffin Counter Set is perfect to encourage math practice and color matching as well as sorting skills.  Included with the Mini Muffin Match Up is: Squeezy Tweezers, Sturdy Muffin Tin, 60 Mini Muffins, 2 Dice Made From Foam, and Circle Inserts.  The Grippy Handles on the Muffin Tin allows for easy moving and sturdy carrying as well.

All four of our kids, ages 2 through 9 enjoy using the Squeezy Tweezers when playing with this set.  I like that Learning Resources included an activity guide as well but this is an open ended toy that allows me to create our own games or the children to free play.  The colors are bright and the pieces are all fairly sturdy.  Even our current youngest at just two years old this week is able to use the Tweezers and sort the mini muffins by color.  I know that we will both enjoy using this  set as we begin to learn counting as well.  The only thing I’d like to see changed is perhaps an additional Squeezy Tweezers included so it would encourage at least two children to play together.  For now, though, the kids are doing well sharing the one that was included.
