I took a huge leap of faith when I began cloth diapering at the beginning of 2014.  I really didn’t consider myself “crunchy” in many (or any) aspects of our life.  Sure, we ate organic produce, recycled cans, and picked up litter when we would be out on the trail walking, but cloth diapering is a whole new world.  A world of poop!  Which scared me immensely.  However, we are heading into August which means that I have been cloth diapering for almost eight months.  I am extremely happy to report that I am loving it and have no plans to return to disposables.  With baby number five coming soon, we will actually have two in cloth and I am not the least bit anxious about it.

Kawaii Baby Diapers sent me their Minky Bamboo Charcoal One Size in the Rocket design for our 2 year old son and their new improved Pure & Natural (0-15 months) in the Kitty Loves Cake design for our little girl we’re expecting.

The Minky Bamboo is designed for children 8#to 36#.  It comes complete with an outer layer of polyester plush velour which is super soft.  The inside lining as well as the two included inserts are all made from bamboo charcoal.  This pocket diaper has a wide opening which allows for easy stuffing.  There are three rows of snaps along the front to allow adjustment all the way down to newborn size or leave unsnapped for an older baby/toddler.  This diaper is as cute as it is functional.  We have not had a single leak with our Kawaii Minky Bamboo.  The fact that it is the softest diaper we own is having me reach for it often.

The new Pure & Natural diapers are slightly smaller and designed for children ages newborn through about 15 months or 6# to 22#.  Made with a waterproof outer layer, this diaper also comes with two microfiber inserts.  The wide pocket opening makes for easy stuffing on this diaper as well.  The New Improved Pure & Natural comes equipped with a velcro closure which allows for a secure and specialized fit each and every time.  While I haven’t tried this diaper out yet because it’s a little too snug for our 2 year old, I’m happy to have it ready to go for when our baby arrives.

I really like the fact that Kawaii Baby Diapers includes a small care guide on the paper label that holds each new diaper.  Even though I’ve been using cloth for months, I still like to read how to care for each and every diaper because I sometimes learn something new.  Kawaii suggests affixing the velcro straps before washing as well as turning the diaper inside out.  Having these instructions at my disposal helps me to treat my cloth as instructed.
