I find baby wearing to be an extremely useful tool, especially since we now have five children. While our 9, 7, and even 4 year olds are all fairly independent, having a newborn and 2 year old in the mix makes for busy days. Add in the fact that we also homeschool and farm, and my hands are usually busy all day long. So being able to snuggle and hold our new baby in a carrier allows me to bond with her while taking care of the rest of my families needs. Plus, I have found all of my babies to be more content when being worn, which is a great bonus.
The Baby K’tan Carrier came highly recommended to me by a friend. She raved about how easy to use it was and that both her and her baby were comfortable as well. I had seen another mom wearing one at a local baby expo and she also said it was her favorite carrier. So when Baby K’tan offered to send me one for review, I was excited to give it a try. I have a variety of carriers but nothing quite like the Baby K’tan which is a “wrap” without all the wrapping. This is a fitted carrier so I choose a size XS. They also suggest sizing down if you are between sizes for the most optimum fit.
Now that our baby has arrived and I like to keep her close, I gave the Baby K’tan a try right away. I like the step-by-step photo instructions on how to use the carrier. They were very easy to follow and I was able to have our little one snugly on me in just a few minutes.
While I’ve only used the Baby K’tan with our newborn, I can say it is really comfortable for both of us at this stage. I’ve always struggled with how to successfully wear newborns because “strap” carriers would either want to straddle the baby’s legs or dangle them and I didn’t find either of those positions to be comfortable for our children. The Baby K’tan solves that issue by offering me the option of “kangaroo” tucked type hold. Then, as she grows, we can switch to another carry position.
We have been using the Baby K’tan daily now and I like it more each time. I am still amazed at how easy it is to use and am really excited to have this carrier on hand. It folds up small and is easy to take with. I even brought it to church and was able to easily slip baby in and out as needed. I enjoyed being able to keep her close and everyone was still able to see her.

I’m a city girl turned country by my awesome husband and we have three busy boys and two darling daughters. I love spending time with my family, reading Karen Kingsbury novels, and catching up with friends while our kiddos have play dates.
