When I adopted my two pugs over a year and a half ago, I expected to take them outside on a leash or to hook them up to a cable. I quickly realized that neither of my dogs will go to the bathroom while on a leash unless they absolutely cannot hold it anymore. They both like to “hide” behind a tree, bush, shed, etc to do their business. It makes it easy to care for our yard that way, but I’m always worried that they’ll go a little too far into the woods. I always stay outside with them the entire time, but we often go outside after dark (I’m a night owl) and with two dogs its easy to lose sight of one of them for a second at night.
WOOFtale is a device that hooks onto your dog’s collar that has GPS capabilities. You can download the WOOFtale app to use on your phone or tablet to keep track of your pet 24/7. I love this idea because it would help me relax when I have my dogs outside at night if I knew I could easily track them down if I do lose sight of them. I was even more excited when I learned that you can set up your WOOFtale to alert you if your pet goes outside of the “Safety perimeter” that you set up for your dog.
If you like to visit dog parks or meet up with other dogs, you can use WOOFtale to share your dogs activities across social networks, plan meet-ups or community events and connect with other dog owners in your area.
WOOFtale can also be used to monitor your dogs activity level and how many calories they’re using. I often worry that my dogs aren’t staying active enough in the winter (though we do play hard inside to try to make up for it). It would be so cool to use WOOFtale to take the guess-work out of how much activity my dogs are doing so we can ensure that they’re getting enough exercise.
If you’re working on training, WOOFtale even has training videos, tips and how-to articles to help guide you through teaching your puppy basic manners or even to teach your old dog new tricks.
Want to get a WOOFtale for your dogs? It will be available in late spring or early summer. If you want to be notified of when it becomes available, visit the WOOFtale site and sign up for product updates via email. When you sign up for updates you’ll be automatically entered for a chance to win a WOOFtale!
