In my opinion, one of the best aspects of current technology is our ability to take so many more photos of our families as they grow than families were able to do even 20 years ago. Remember how even in the 90’s we used to pay $5 or so for a roll of film, and another $5 or so to develop the 25 to 30 photos, only a handful of which would be nice shots? The cost really added up quick, especially for young parents with babies or toddlers at home when so many other expenses have to come first. I knew a few families who would prioritize buying film but then would let the rolls sit undeveloped for years at a time before they would give in and spend the money to have them developed. I am amazed at how I can take hundreds of photos, select my favorite few and print them out for so much less money than just 20 years ago.

The only real downside to being able to take so many photos is keeping them organized. I could spend days organizing and re-organizing the photos that I have on my computer, phone and tablet. I often worry that I will accidentally forget about some folders I have on older devices and those shots will be lost forever. I would be devastated to lose some of my favorite shots like these:
