Life is full of memorable events and it’s so much fun to capture those on photo and relive over time. I recently realized how important a photo can be as I just lost one of my dear friends this past week to colon cancer. She was always taking photos and catching those special moments so when searching for pictures of her for the memorial slide show, the choices were slim since she was always behind the camera. My new mission from now on will be to make sure my camera gets passed around so that I am part of the memories.
That being said, we took an amazing family vacation at the beginning of April and I actually did a good job of being included in a fair share of photos. One of my favorite ways to preserve those memories is through a photo scrapbook album. Since I’m not very crafty, I prefer the digital/year book style ones that I can order online so I turned to CVS Photo for help.
CVS Photo offers several options for albums but I decided to go with their 8.5″ x 11″ Layflat Hardcover Album. This was my first experience creating an album through their website but I found the process to be quite simple. I loved the fact that I was able to easily grab photos from my Facebook account as it made the entire process easier for me since I already had all of our trip photos in two albums there. This book comes with 20 pages for $44.99 and additional pages can be added for a small fee. I ended up with a total of 45 pages in my album.
As I worked, I loved all the options available. There were lots of backgrounds, patterns, and colors to choose from as well as picture and word layouts. I was also able to add photos, captions, and even decals wherever I wanted.
My favorite feature that I want to make special note of is the fact that CVS offers a Layflat Page option. This allows me to look through my book without having to crease and bend pages! LOVE it! This also makes looking through the album easier for children.
I was also quite pleased with how thick the pages are. They are very sturdy and should hold up well to being turned, looked at, and cherished for a long time.
Overall, the entire process of creating this album took me about 3 days. I took many breaks and had to scour over 800+ photos to decide which to use so I was really happy with how fast I was able to create. Once I submitted my order, the book went into processing and was ready to be picked up at a local CVS in just 8 days.
As you can see, our album turned out beautifully and the process was easy. So be sure to capture some fun memories this summer and preserve them with a gorgeous album of your own!

I’ve never tried photos from CVS but we have a ton of stores around here to do so. It looks like it turned out great and the colors are vibrant. Nice to keep this forever and show friends too.

I love photo albums! I remember spending hours looking through old family albums and pictures of my siblings and I as kids. Now that the world is basically all digital, I love that their are still photo album options like this available. 🙂 I think it’s very important to capture memories as well, and just on a hard drive where they can be lost so easily. I will definitely be designing my own very soon, thank you for sharing!
