For many young girls, sleepovers are a memorable and cherished part of their childhood.  I have many fond memories from my own experiences.  There was the time when I was in 5th or 6th grade and my sister and I had a big co-sleepover where we both invited a bunch of friends.  We played a ton of games outside and even had a water balloon toss that may have ended with a mini water balloon fight…  But one of the highlights of that sleepover was the fact that my dad pulled our RV up by the house and my friends and I got to “camp out” in it.  We stayed up till all hours of the night talking and laughing.  On another occasion, my friend had a group over and we camped out in a tent in their yard.  All was going well until her older brother and sister thought it would be a good idea to try to scare us.  While their “wolf sounds” didn’t make us bat an eye, when they started shaking the tent and knocked it down on top of all of us, the night lost its luster.  However, up to her room we plotted a little revenge.  Once her sister was asleep, we covered her hands in shaving cream!  Boy, did we LAUGH!  So many memories.  I wish I had written down and tracked my thoughts, experiences, and dreams more as a kid as I know I only recall a fraction of my past.

I handed this Sleepover Diary to our 11 year old daughter for her thoughts.  She was immediately enthralled with the idea and started talking about which friends she could possibly share this journey with.  As she flipped through the pages, she especially loved how colorful and pretty each and every single page was.  With each little note or question featuring an illustration, decal, or color, it really kept her attention from page to page.
