While I love when my house is clean and organized, the struggle with clutter and messes is very real.  I’ve spent time purging and rearranging what’s left for clothes, toys, dishes, and everything else but I still need to get rid of more as well as find a better way to keep things in order.  One spot where we seem to struggle more than anything happens to be the kids’ coats, hats, mittens, and shoes or boots (depending on what time of year it is).  Someone is always looking for that missing shoe or glove right when we’re trying to get out the door and I was desperate to find a better way.  Thankfully, I recently discovered the brand new My First Cubby from Little Partners and I’m thrilled to partner with them for this review.

Little Partners ~ Build Children's Independence With The My First Cubby

When kids have a very distinct place to store things, it seems like they can better manage the responsibility of that item.  By providing them with the tools necessary to build their independence, it’s amazing to see their confidence and skills grow.  So with that in mind, the My First Cubby is a wooden locker storage system, designed just for kids!

Assembly is what I expected for this type of a wooden structure.  While it took a little time, it was not difficult.  Within about 45 minutes, the My First Cubby went from boxed to set up and complete.  This also takes into account that we had our usual handy helpers too as we try to turn everything into a learning experience.

The My First Cubby is multi-purpose as it offers six open storage areas in a variety of sizes, coat hooks, and also doubles as a bench.  I love that each area is designed to fit a specific purpose.  The top shelf is great for school books, hats, or gloves while the very bottom open shelf is perfect for footwear.  The middle section is nice and long to accommodate coats hanging from the hooks, backpacks, or any other larger item that children will be needing soon or use often.

Heavy duty construction means the My First Cubby will last a long time while the appealing design can fit an entry way, toy room, or child’s room.  It’s available in two color finishes: natural or espresso.

Little Partners ~ My First Cubby Review

Having a specific place now for the younger children to store their items has really cut down on the missing pieces as well as helped us make better time getting out the door.  The kids love having something that is their size while I love how it’s so easy for them to use.  It’s truly a beautiful and practical piece of furniture that we will be enjoying and utilizing for years to come.

I like this a lot. I like the simplicity, and how easy it would be for kids to use. I also like that it would be something they were used to as a ltr of schools have something the same to help kids keep their things in. It looks well made and wouldnt take up a lot of room.

  • I really love this there own little organizing spot for there room or somewhere to fit when they come right in the doorway. My son could benefit from this by cleaning up after himself with his school stuff.

You want to add a note about attaching it to the wall. I so agree all kids need a place to place their stuff when they come in the house. We had something like this when we were kids

This is such a cute idea, I wish I had one of these when I was growing up. I will have to tell my friend about this. Thank you for sharing.
