This post is sponsored by Stonyfield.  All opinions are 100% my own.

The Stonyfield brand is quite well known.  My family especially loves their yogurt selection but they offer a variety of organic and conventional choices from milk and cream to frozen yogurt, milk pouches, fruit snacks, YoKids, YoTot, YoBaby, Smoothies, as well as a variety of yogurt types and flavors.  But today the question is, “Can a cow save a penguin?”

Stonyfield is confident that they definitely CAN make a difference with just a little help from you.  For a long time now, they have been focused on conservation and sustainability as each and every year they keep 185,000 pounds of toxic pesticides out of the environment.  So now, the Stonyfield YoKids sponsorship with the AZA SAFE Program is on a mission to help save endangered species.  And as a proud sponsor of AZA SAFE, Stonyfield has committed funds that will be specifically used to help 10 endangered species, including the African Penguin!

Throughout the last 100 years, African penguin breeding pairs have had a 97 percent decrease dropping from nearly one million to approximately just 25,000.  This decline has been attributed to a variety of reasons including oil spills, loss of nest burrow sites, and a reduction in prey because of the commercial fishing industry.

In part to show their support of the AZA, the Stonyfield Organic’s YoKids line is geared up to inspire the love of animals by featuring an on-pack offer to get families out to visit AZA member zoos and aquariums!  So hurry, because now through the end of August, families who buy two YoKids yogurt packs will receive a free kid’s admission to their local AZA-accredited zoo or aquarium.

Be sure to also tune in on Tuesday, April 25th {World Penguin Day!} for Facebook Live with Stonyfield and an AZA member aquarium as they bring even more awareness to these efforts.  This is a great way for kids and their parents to get a firsthand look at these majestic seabirds, as well as see the conservation work being done to save them.  The Facebook Live broadcast will be direct from Mystic Aquarium in Mystic, CT on Tuesday, April 25th at 12 noon. You can find the broadcast over at the Stonyfield Facebook Page.

Also, Stonyfield has created a series of entertaining and family friendly videos asking children and their parents “Can a cow save a penguin or a sea turtle or a cheetah?” Head over to check out their heartwarming video answers as well as other resources.  And don’t forget to visit the local participating zoos or aquariums near you to experience endangered species firsthand and learn more about them.

More exciting news from Stonyfield includes that they have recently announced a sugar reduction across its yogurt portfolio.  Always made with USDA organic, non-GMO ingredients, the YoKids Yorgurt now boasts a feature of up to 40% LESS sugar than the leading low-fat children’s yogurts on the market.

So mark your calendar, grab some YoKids cups, squeezers and smoothies and join the Facebook Live broadcast Tuesday, April 25th.
