Oogavé is the first soda to be sweetened only with 100% organic agave nectar–not one drop of high fructose corn syrup (HFCS). Not only is agave nectar a fantastic sweetener, but the garbage found in traditional sodas has been removed. Artificial flavors, artificial colors, salt and preservatives such as sodium benzoate are not used.
Oogavé has only four principal ingredients: agave nectar, carbonated water, citric acid, and natural flavors–nothing that cannot be found in nature. Instead of injecting artificial flavors, we use only natural plant and fruit extracts.
We add caffeine to only one of our flavors, Esteban’s Cola, and that caffeine is naturally derived from green tea leaves, not something created in a lab. In short, we offer a soda the way mother nature intended.
To be honest, the above description makes me think “how can it really be soda without all those nasty things in it? This soda can’t be very good” But after trying Oogave myself, I can’t believe how wrong that is. This is by far the best tasting natural soda I’ve tried so far, out of 3 brands total. I was sent six bottles to review, one bottle of each flavor. I tasted each flavor and I had my boyfriend try each one too. My favorite of the six flavors was the watermelon cream, but I liked them all except the cola flavor – which was funny because it’s the only one that has any kind of caffeine in it, so it’s surprising to me that it’s the only one I didn’t care for, especially when I’m normally a mountain dew addict. My boyfriends favorite was the grapefruit but he liked them all. These are very yummy sodas, I never would have known that they were healthier than usual sodas if I hadn’t read about it.
Buy it: You can purchase oogave sodas online or you can check out their ‘where to buy’ section to see if a store is near you. I was surprised to learn that a store sells Oogave that is only about 15 minutes from me.
