Since joining the blogging world, and learning so much through other blogs I follow, I have became more and more interested in green and organic products. All different types of products, really. Until a couple of months ago, I hadn’t tried organic food of any kind. I guess I thought it would be similar to diet food. After trying my first organic food, that was actually good, I decided to explore additional brands and types of food that are organic.
I came across Newmans Own Organics on another blog, and was instantly interested in trying them out. The snacks the had sounded great – pretzels, cookies and others. I contacted Newmans Own Organics who was willing to let me review some of their stuff. When the box arrived and I opened it, I couldn’t believe how much stuff they sent. We were thrilled. Most of the snacks were chocolate, which I don’t care for, but my boyfriend was super excited to try them out of course. My overall favorite were the pretzels, I’ve always been a pretzel lover and was thrilled that these organic pretzels don’t make me compromise taste at all. I loved all 3 types of pretzels they sent, which were two types of regular curly pretzels, and some “nugget” pretzels.
My second favorite was the mints! They sent 4 types of mints, and they were all great. My favorite was the wintergreen mints though. They came in a little tin and I found myself keeping the tin at the computer desk while I sat going through emails, reading blogs, etc and I was just eating them one after the other. Oops! They are so good though. Their cinnamon mints are also really good, they’re pretty hot, which I usually am sensitive to but they didn’t bother me.
My third favorite was the soy crisps (pictured above). They were really good! I’ve tried similar products in other brands, some of which I liked but many of which didn’t have enough flavor, and just felt dry and weird. These were powdered with enough flavor to make them super yummy. These also went really fast!
My boyfriend loved Newmans Own Organics too. The chocolate bars, were his favorite. His second favorite was the Newman-o’s, which are similar to oreos. He said they were great and really similar to other products he’s had that weren’t organic. He also really liked the alphabet letters we received. He said these basically taste like the cookie part of oreos, just without filling. He also liked the fig-newmans and chocolate chip cookies.
Overall, we only found one snack that neither of us cared for, which was the orange chocolate chip cookies. However, neither of us are a fan of orange flavored chocolate so I’m sure that’s why. We found that if we liked the ‘non-organic’ version of a Newmans Own Organics product, then we loved the Newmans Own Organics version just as much. I love being able to eat organic without compromising taste or anything else for that matter.
