We live on a very tight budget. When you’re budgeting and clipping coupons just to make ends meet, it can be very difficult to find a chance to donate money to good causes. For the last two years, during December Ryan and I have donated $100 to charity. I choose a charity to send $50 to and he does the same. While it feels good to do, $100 isn’t much at all over the course of a year. The reality is that most organizations need more than $100 to make a big difference in the lives of needy individuals. We like to help others but it’s hard to find the extra cash so we look for ways that we can donate our time instead of our money. I love when businesses sponsor events that allow individuals to get involved with donating to a great cause, without having to spend money.
Johnson’s Baby Cares has partnered with Save The Children. Save The Children is an organization that is dedicated to improving the health of mothers and babies worldwide. Part of this partnership includes helping moms and babies who have experienced disasters. For these people, Johnson’s is donating baby care kits and providing child friendly spaces that allow mom and baby to recover and play after the disaster. You can read more about the partnership on the johnson’s baby facebook page.
Johnson’s has put out a video called “Happy Mother’s Day Mom – you’re doing okay“. When the video reaches 500,000 views, Johnson’s will donate an additional $50,000 to Save The Children. This means you don’t have to spend cash money, you can simply watch a video and help with this donation. I can’t think of an easier way to help make a donation. Most individuals watch at least a few youtube videos per day. The video is just a minute and 3 seconds long. If you’d like to provide extra help, you can spread the word about the video and “free” way to donate by spreading the word on your facebook and twitter.
I wrote this review while participating in a campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of Johnson & Johnson and received a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
