I’ve mentioned before that I have a niece on the way – she’s expected to make her appearance in August. Being a hedgehog owner, I couldn’t turn down the chance to check out a Hedgehog baby toy for my niece. Aurora recently added four new animals to their crinkle friends line including a hedgehog, alligator, toucan and crab. They’re all really cute but the Crinkle Friends Hedgehog stood out the most to me. Geared at ages 6 months+, they make great baby shower or first birthday gifts. While adorable and really soft, they aren’t just plain stuffed toys. Instead the Hedgehog has a face/nose that squeaks, a rattle in his green section, makes a crinkly noise when his yellow section is squeezed and is also fun to feel. His bottom side is incredibly soft, while the rest of his body is also soft but made out of a different material. His “spikes” are bits of ribbon that are quite similar to a tag. Have you ever met one of those kids who just loves to rub clothing tags or the tag on a blanket between their fingers? While my niece isn’t here to check out her new hedgehog friend yet, I’m sure she’ll enjoy him once she’s here. The toy came with a tag in the ear and another in the nose which should be removed before giving to a baby but otherwise is completely ready to be gifted, no boxes or twisty ties to fumble with. The hedgehog is roughly 10.5 inches, the crab is the same while while the alligator is 12″ long and the toucan is 8.5 inches long.
