Ryan was a big Star Wars fan growing up so when I saw that PetSmart has a Yoda pet costume I knew we had to have it. The costume comes in sizes small medium and large and x-large. Upon seeing the costume in person, I was better able to understand how the costume works. Yoda’s legs and feet go on your dogs front legs while Yoda’s arms are stuffed and just hang to the side. the hood has a hole that your dogs head goes through, and the fabric area behind your dog’s head velcros on. I was impressed with how long the strip of velcro is because it makes it so much more adjustable than a small 1 inch strip of velcro would have.
In the future, Ryan & I hope to get a pug. Pugs tend to have very thick necks compared to their height and length compared to other breeds. For this reason it can be hard to find clothing that fits pugs because the neck area is too skinny for clothing that is the right height and length. In addition to the velcro being long and really adjustable, the leg areas have elastic to adjust to different leg widths as well.
The PetSmart website lists the head to tail length and chest measurements that are appropriate for each size and I would recommend measuring your dog and double checking prior to ordering because I was a bit surprised at how large the size medium costume is in person. This is great news for pet owners who have large dogs though because the larger sizes are more apt to fit in this costume than they would be others due to it being larger.
