Microdry Bath Mat Review | Emily Reviews

Until recently, we had a cheap bathmat that was the typical yarn-like feeling with the non-slip rubbery bottom. It was okay, but there are three of us sharing a bathroom so it would get pretty wet if two or three of us took showers within a few hours of each other, and then it would stay wet for several hours. The underside of the mat had a yucky feeling to it, and would get water stains on it, yet it wasn’t machine washable so there wasn’t much we could do. From my experience, that’s kind of how bath mats are so I was okay with it because I didn’t know we had a better option. When I heard about Microdry, a bath mat that is microfiber and can absorb 10 times its weight in water, I was definitely interested in trying this out. When it arrived and I opened the box, I was impressed at how soft the mat is. It actually feels good to touch instead of feeling uncomfortable like my “wet yarn” bath mat. It feels nice to touch by hand, but it feels GREAT to step on. It’s 1/2 inch thick memory foam! I love memory foam in anything, but I had no idea that memory foam bath mats even existed. In addition to being soft, it’s a nice cushion feeling to step on. This feature would be great for parents of young children or pet owners who kneel beside the tub to wash their children or pets. I bathe my hedgehog in the tub and this bath mat makes it a much more enjoyable experience because in the past my knees would hurt from being against the hard floor with only the cheap bath mat between us. With this mat my knees don’t hurt at all. The bottom side of the mat doesn’t have the yucky feeling nonslip material, but it stays in place well anyway. Plus, this mat is machine washable so you can throw it right in with your laundry when it needs done. The mat comes in 12 different colors so you can likely find one that fits the theme of your bathroom.

Buy it: Microdry products are available at bed bath and beyond.

  • I am pretty sure this is the first time I’ve ever seen the words “I bathe my hedgehog in the tub” appear in a review. Are there pictures of the hedgehog? I really think we need pictures. I’d totally stumble it. By the way, I love the new look of the blog!

  • Hey, I JUST bought one of those memory foam mats from Costco and I love it! So much, in fact, that it was the wrong color and I ended up going out and buying towels to better match the mat. Feels wonderful!

This is the first I have heard of this product. We use towel bath mats, but when it is time to give the dogs or cats a bath, they don’t help your knees much. I do have some of the other style bath mats, but the backing degrades and you end up with a mess.
