About two years ago, I made the switch from traditional department store cosmetics to mineral based products. Not only are they safer for me, but I think they look better, feel better on my skin and wear longer.
A favorite mineral make-up line of mine is Ecco Bella. Ecco Bella offers products that care for your hair, skin and body. They also have fragrance and cosmetics. Ecco Bella products are formulated in quality natural and organic ingredients. They are free of water, gluten, artificial dyes, GMO’s, animal products and preservatives. Ecco Bella products are 50-70% organic. For these reasons, I think Ecco Bella cosmetics make a great holiday gift idea for women or teens.
For my review, I received the Enlightenment Collection, FlowerColor Face Powder and FlowerColor Natural Mascara.
An Enlightenment Collection includes three powders, a lipstick and gloss. The Purity powder can be used as a blush or highlighter. The Celestial powder can be used as an eye shadow. The Mystic powder can be used wet or dry; wet it is great for a liner and dry, it is great for shading. The lipstick comes in REDvelation. You can wear this rich lipstick in full strength or blot for a subtle glow. The gloss is in the Peace color. It can be worn on its own or combined with the REDvelation.
I was a bit intimidated by some of the Enlightenment Collection colors. However, I have stepped outside my comfort zone and am learning how to apply them to my liking.
FlowerColor Face Powder is a talc-free finishing powder. It is available in four colors and provides medium coverage. The FlowerColor Face Powder is fortified with green tea extract, flower waxes, aloe vera and vitamin E. It comes with a mirror and powder puff and is encased in a recyclable compact.
I really like the FlowerColor Face Powder. It covers well enough that I don’t feel I “have” to wear a foundation too. It helps even my skin color, covers the redness on my cheeks and removes shine. It provides me with that natural beauty look.
FlowerColor Natural Mascara is made with clay and iron oxides. It was designed to create long and full lashes. FlowerColor Natural Mascara is water resistant. It is also safe for sensitive eyes.
For the last few months, I have been using different natural mascara. I noticed every time I applied it, my eyes would start watering. It had a light menthol smell and it was irritating my eyes. However I kept using it. I was a little nervous to try another natural mascara thinking it may do the same. It didn’t! The FlowerColor Natural Mascara is a nice light formula. It doesn’t feel heavy or clumpy. It goes on very smooth and looks nice. It doesn’t irritate my eyes in any way.

Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.
