Kids are always on the go. As soon as babies learn to move, it’s nearly impossible to keep them in one place.  Once on the go, toys and play become an important part of the growing and developing process.  Prince Lionheart has created a great product that brings a whole new meaning to the term “ride on toy.”  Their Wheely Bugs have been a hit for years and they just came out with a new Hedgehog Wheely Bug and I was thrilled to partner with them for this review.

The Prince Lionheart Hedgehog Wheely Bug is the first Wheely Bug with a removable cover.  The cover was easy to put on and just as easy to take back off as well.  Other than the cover, there was no assembly required.  Yeah!  The Hedgehog’s “fur” is very soft and the kids love to pet him.  Our 3 year old will sit down next to the Hedgehog Wheely Bug and talk to him and rub him like he’s a real live pet.  It’s adorable to watch him as he plays and imagines with his Hedgehog Wheely Bug.

The Hedgehog Wheely Bug is Prince Lionheart’s smaller version of their Wheely Bugs.  The recommended weight limit for this Wheely Bug is 50 pounds but each wheel can actually support 75 pounds bringing the total holding ability to 300 pounds.  Designed for ages 1 and up, all four of our kids have been having a blast on the Hedgehog Wheely Bug.  Our 16 month old knew what to do as soon as he sat down.  He was able to scoot around and “steer” without any help.

The Prince Lionheart Wheely Bug moves effortlessly as the child guides with their feet.  Since the weight limit is fairly high, I decided that our 8 and 6 year olds could also give it a try.  They were antsy while watching their brothers give it a go and quite disappointed when I read the recommended weight limit was 50 pounds since they were both just a few pounds over.  Our oldest was able to really move.
