There are so many decisions a parent needs to make every day.  So many choices from what to feed the kids for breakfast to what should they wear and that only covers the first half hour they are awake!  In my quest to become more eco conscious as well as to heal our son’s chemical reaction from disposables, I made the conscious decision to give cloth diapering a try.  I am thrilled to say that in just a couple weeks, we will have been cloth diapering for a full year.  While I did use disposables on our 2 year old after the birth of baby number five in September, we jumped right back to cloth once that box ran out.  (Originally I was going to stick with cloth but my husband and mom were quite nervous and flustered about being on their own and having to match and stuff diapers themselves that I took pity on them and offered to switch for that week.)  All in all, I have fallen in love with cloth diapering.  Especially the money it has saved us having two in diapers.

Bear Bums sent me one of their best selling AppleCheeks diapers to review with our new little girl.  I chose the AppleCheeks Winging It Pocket Diaper because I liked the bird design.  These diapers are a 2-stage system so I received a size 1 which is geared to fit infants from 7-20 pounds.  The size 2 is best for children weighing 18- 40 pounds.

This diaper has a nice snug elastic at the waist and legs for optimal fit with no leakage.  The two rows of snaps are easy to adjust and offer a variety of sizing to provide the best fit for any shape.  I find the envelope-type pocket easy to stuff.  The best part is that the wash machine does the un-stuffing for me!  The outer layer is waterproof and the inside is very soft to the touch, which is perfect for delicate baby skin.

Overall, this diaper has been great for us.  Our daughter has been using it from about 8 pounds on.  She is currently about 13 pounds and I am still getting a nice secure snug fit on her with no leaks.
