Surprise my pet february dog subscription box

SurpriseMyPet sent me their dog subscription box for review. All opinions are my own.

In January I got my first SurpriseMyPet subscription box. It had unique items in it that were really fun and I thought the box was a nice overall value. So I was excited to check out the February box as well.

I was pleasantly surprised to find one BIG item in the February box. In January all the items were small so I guess I just assumed that Surprise My Pet would usually go with smaller items. Surprise My Pet includes 5-7 items in each box, these are usually a combination of toys and treats but sometimes accessories or surprises for you the pet owner as well.  Check out my January SurpriseMyPet review to see what was in that box.

The Surprise My Pet box comes with a little card that gives you details about what was included in your box. This is nice because if you really fall in love with something in your box you can go hunt out the company’s products to purchase more. Plus, for pet owners who have selective about what they offer their pets, they can learn more about the company and how and where the product was made.

The BIG item in the February box was a bag of Loving Pets Puffsters. The bag is about a foot tall! We have tried some other Loving Pets products before. I like the brand because their treats are made in the USA. The Puffsters we were sent are soy, glycerin and corn free. They are under 10 calories per treat and are about an inch long and very soft so you can break them into smaller pieces if you prefer. My dogs are sometimes finicky about fruit-flavored treats but they didn’t hesitate to enjoy the cranberry and chicken flavored puffers. The treats are a $7.99 value.

The second item that I pulled out of the box was a set of four tennis balls. These are a $4.99-$7.99 value depending on the size you get (they come in different sizes for different sizes of dogs). My dogs have little mouths that can’t fit over regular sized tennis balls. I tried to interest them both in these smaller tennis balls but they didn’t seem to understand that they were toys. My dogs are very picky about toys though so it was mostly to be expected.

The third item was a bag of Ry’s Ruffery peanut butter dog treats. These have a value of $6.99 and are vegetarian and made in the USA. My dogs love peanut butter so I knew these would be a hit.

The next item that I pulled out confused me a bit at first so I had to read the product tag to fully understand what it was. This is definitely the most unique item that I have ever gotten in a subscription box. Jack For Joy is a dog toy made for fetching that is shaped like a jack. It’s made out of SAN, a non-toxic plastic that is shatterproof and chip proof. You toss it for your dog to fetch and because of it’s rounded ends it will bounce around making fetch into a much more unpredictable game. As I mentioned before, my dogs are picky about toys so unfortunately we weren’t able to try this out with them but I love how creative and unique it is. This sells for $10.

Up next was a mini lint roller. While I assume most pet owners have a lint roller in their home already, I love the size of this one. I keep a lint roller at home so I can “de-fur” before I leave the house. I also keep one in my car because sometimes I lint-roll at home only to get somewhere and realize I missed some spots. This mini lint roller is perfect for traveling, keeping in your purse or in your glove box if you don’t have room for a full sized one. At least with my dogs I never understand how they get fur on me so easily but having access to a lint roller in as many places as possible is ideal for me. The mini lint roller sells for $2.49.

The last item in the box was another unique one! It’s called FlavorIt. It’s made of nylon and has a lot of pin-prick sized holes. The purpose is to spread any soft and dog-friendly food into the holes to encourage them to chew on the toy. You can fill the holes with foods such as peanut butter, yogurt or cheese. I have read online that many pet owners can only get their dogs to start chewing on a nylon chew if they coat it in some kind of treat, but then they will continue to chew on it. This doesn’t work for my dogs as they lose interest once the consumable part is gone but FlavorIt is dishwasher safe so you can use it over and over. This comes in multiple sizes for different size dogs and prices range from $7..99 to $11.99.

My box for small dogs had a total value of $40.45, the boxes for medium and large size dogs would have been slightly higher. Surprise My Pet is a great value because it costs just $25 if you pay month to month. Or, if you prepay for 3 months it averages out to $23 per box, or $19 per box if you prepay for six months.

Plus, Surprise My Pet offers a Paw For Paw guarantee. If you get an item in your subscription box that your dog does not like you can inform SurpriseMyPet and they will send you an extra item in your box the following month! SurpriseMyPet is the only subscription box I have heard of that offers that kind of guarantee.
