kyocera ceramic fry pans

I was sent Kyocera pans for my gift guide. All opinions are my own.

I was only 18 when I got my first apartment. I was both lucky and thankful to have family members donate many of their old household items for me to use. Between my mom and my two aunts we were donated more than half of the items we needed for our kitchen. Everything was used, and some of it was quite old, but we were thankful to have enough to get by.

Trying to go to college and afford an apartment is a lot to juggle, so we kept using that used cookware and dinnerware for a couple of years. Then once when we were moving into a new apartment my mother-in-law stopped by with a new non-stick frying pan set as a bit of a house warming (apartment-warming?) gift. I could not believe how much more I enjoyed cooking now that I didn’t have to saturate my pans with a ton of grease to avoid sticking anymore. While the non-stick property was nice, I was a little worried about the material they were made out of. I knew many people believed it to be unsafe and over time it was scratching, so I knew bits had probably come off into our food which bothered me as well. I was drawn to Kyocera because their pans are ceramic and non-stick. I was hoping they could provide the convenience of a non-stick pan without having to worry about the material the pan was made out of.

When my new Kyocera ceramic non-stick pans came I felt about the same way all over again. Kyocera Ceramic frying pans are pretty heavy duty. They are heavy and sturdy, with higher sides than many fry pans offer. The ceramic material aids in creating an even heat distribution. They are scratch resistant, meaning they won’t scratch very easily though you should still avoid using metal utensils inside of them. They are easy to clean and require less heat use to warm up nicely. In fact, you should only use these pans when your burner is on a medium or lower heat. You shouldn’t need more than a medium heat for these ceramic pans because of the even heat distribution. If you use a higher heat there is a risk of burning the pans. Ceramic does require a bit of upkeep. You should lightly oil the pans before use to avoid burning, unless you are cooking something that is naturally very greasy such as ground beef with a high fat content. If you have multiple ceramic pans you should store them separately as stacking them could cause damage to the pans.

Kyocera 12.5 inch wok

I’ve found my Kyocera ceramic pans to be wonderfully non-stick. I just love how easy it is to cook eggs in these pans as they really do not stick at all, leaving the pans so easy to clean afterwards. I was sent the 8″ and 10″ ceramic rfy pan set which together can meet all of my cooking needs. I love how they have high sides so cooking stir-fry, jambalaya and other similar dishes is easy and less messy. It’s convenient to be able to flip and stir rice dishes without spilling over the sides. For larger families or bigger dishes, Kyocera even offers a 12 inch fry pan and a 12.5 inch wok with lid.

The pans have a stainless steel handle that makes these pans oven safe up to 400 degrees F.
