Last Christmas, I got an Emile Henry Round Dutch Oven / Stewpot. It was something that had been on my wishlist for a long time. After almost a year of using it, I can honestly say the Round Dutch Oven / Stewpot is everything I dreamt it would be! I love using it for large batches of soups, stews, and chili. I haven’t tried frying anything yet, but it will be great for that too. My only disappointment is that I went so long without it!
This year, I am adding the Focaccia Bread Baker to my growing Emile Henry cookware collection. The Focaccia Bread Baker is a 16 x 12.5-inch French ceramic baker. The dish is made with Emile Henry’s Flame® ceramic.
Flame® ceramic dishes were created for use directly on the heat, oven, or microwave. Products made with Emile Henry’s Flame® ceramic can be used at a temperature of 500°C/930°F and are resistant to thermal shocks. You can take your dish from the freezer (-20°C/0°F) and put it directly into a hot oven. Once heated, Flame® ceramic will retain the heat.
I got the Focaccia Bread Baker in Charcoal to match my Charcoal Round Dutch Oven / Stewpot. It is also made in Burgundy.
Don’t limit yourself to only using the Focaccia Bread Baker for bread. It can be used for several other things. I plan to use it for roasting vegetables and baking casseroles. I think it will also work well for baking desserts like lemon bars, brownies/blondies, and apple crisps. The possibilities are endless!
