GreatJones SmallFry pan review

Great Jones sent me their Small Fry pan for review. All opinions are my own.

I have high expectations for small frying pans. With larger frying pans, I’m often cooking meat that has its own natural grease, and isn’t likely to stick. With small frying pans, I’m primarily cooking eggs and grilled cheese. A nice non-stick coating is really key for these, in my opinion.

Over the years, I’ve noticed that my pans start to stick around the screws or rivets that fix the handle to the pan. If egg (or any other food residue) sticks and needs extra scrubbing, it’s often right around the rivets. Then scrubbing that area too much or too hard starts to impact it’s coating, so it starts to stick even MORE in that area. Making it even HARDER to clean…and it just goes downhill from there.

So, when browsing the Great Jones website, I saw that they have an 8″ frying pan with a welded handle. No screws, no reivets, just a totally smooth surface on the cooking area. I have high hopes that this will help prevent me from over-scrubbing and damaging the non-stick coating over time!

The pan is made without PTFE and PFOA chemicals. It is safe for all types of stovetops, including induction. It’s made with nonstick ceramic and stainless steel.

The brand suggests always using a high-smokepoint oil while using this pan, and handwashing though it is dishwasher safe. The pan is even oven-safe up to 500 degrees!

I’m really happy with this little pan. At the time of me writing this, it appears to be out of stock temporarily, but they have it in a larger size. They also have really popular baking sheets, a dutch oven, smaller baking pans and more. A lot of their items are available in bold colors that add a pop of fun to your cooking experience! They’d be a great gift for anyone who could benefit from higher quality cookware or bakeware.

Sale alert: Great Jones is being really generous with their black friday shopping window! The sales started yesterday November 4th and will continue through December first! They’re offering up to 50% off different items!

I totally agree, all of my pans that have screws inside stick bad. I have always wondered why they were made this way and thought it would be amazing if they didn’t. This fry pan is amazing; it is definitely on my wish list now!

I love that these have no screws. Food always gets caught on it and hard to clean off!
