Revolution Smart Toaster review

Revolution sent me their smart toaster and toastie press for review.

I used to think toasters were pretty much all the same. Two (or sometimes four) slots, a single dial to try to adjust how long the item cooks for. Maybe the dial is numbered from 0-5, maybe its from “lightest to darkest” but we try to memorize what setting we like for basic toast, and then guess completely anytime we’re trying to make a bagel, a pastry, a frozen pastry or anything else! Right? That had been my entire life experience with toasters!

I recently heard about Revolution Cooking – who is changing their name to just Revolution, so I’ll be using that moving forward. The name is well-chosen, because Revolution really is a Revolution for toasters! When you hear “smart toaster” you might worry that you’ll only be able to use the toaster if you’re connected to wifi or Bluetooth and remember a password or something. Don’t worry, it’s not “smart” in those annoying ways! It’s revolutionary because it is the ONLY toaster that uses  InstaGLO® technology, and this is the biggest update that toasters have seen in a century!

The heating elements are made of custom alloy, which heats up in a fraction of the time of traditional toasters. They toast the outside of whatever you’re cooking without drying out the inside, making for a more enjoyable finished product whether you’re making toast, a bagel, or a grilled cheese.

It’s also a smart toaster because of its algorithm that has settings for dozens of food types. It has a touch screen display, and you select what type of food item you’re cooking. White bread, wheat bread, an English muffin, a toaster strudel, a pastry – tons of options! Once you select the food type, you get to select if the item is currently fresh or frozen, and select a number (1 to 7) to alter how well-done you want the item. When you toggle between level 2 and level 3, the display changes to give you a representation of how your finished item will look! I love this feature because I know how brown I want something, not necessarily whether I want it done at ” level 3 or 4″, you know? This results in me getting the results I want in terms of level of doneness much more effectively, the vast majority of the time.

I’ve found that the toaster display images are quite accurate, the results will closely mirror the estimated image as long as you selected the right food item. I once selected ‘large bagel’ for my regular grocery store bagels. In my mind, I thought ‘They aren’t mini bagels so I guess they’re large?” but after seeing the results, it was clear to me that it meant LARGE bagels because my regular bagel was overcooked. I’ve had this toaster for over a month now, and to date, that’s the only “problem” I ran into! Once we resolved that, I was really happy with how our bagels would turn out. Our old toaster would often leave one part of a bagel much darker than the rest. The Revolution Smart Toaster gives more even results across the entire bagel.

Another feature that makes the Revolution toaster smart is it will alert you when it’s time to clean the crumb tray. I love this because it’s an easy thing to forget about, but it’s an important thing to stay on top of.

Yet ANOTHER smart feature is that the front is a photo display! You can set it up to flip through favorite family photos to add a personal touch to your kitchen decor. It can also auto-set the time and date and show the weather.

It is a high-end toaster. When deciding whether you can make the investment, keep in mind that it has a 30-day money-back guarantee and a 2-year warranty!

The Toastie Press – Review

You can buy the Revolution Smart Toaster with or without the Toastie Press. I was sent the Toastie Press, and this is a cool add-on! The toastie-press can also be purchased separately, and it fits in all standard toasters.

This press is basically a “cage” like gadget that holds a sandwich, quesadilla, or other items together tightly so it’s safe to toast them. For example, it can be used to make grilled cheese, as the toastie press holds the sandwich together while the cheese is cold and lets the sandwich toast together without cheese dripping down into the toaster itself.

The Toastie Press is the perfect size for a sandwich made from traditional sliced sandwich bread, but it also can be used for small quesadillas, wraps, paninis, and other items as long as they fit within the press. With the Toastie Press, you don’t need to butter the outside of the toast if you don’t want to, but you can. So far, we’ve only used this for grilled cheese sandwiches, but we love being able to make them in the toaster and not having to dirty a frying pan or turn on the stovetop (especially right now when it’s easy for our house to get overheated if we use the stove!)

Win it: Revolution is offering a their Smart Toaster with Toastie Press for one lucky winner! This giveaway is open to the US. Enter using the Giveaway Tools form below. The giveaway will end August 29th 2026 at 11:59pm Eastern.
