Today I am going to tell you about this awesome new hair accessory called a flexi-8. At first glance, it appears pretty typical, or at least it did to me. However, what makes this accessory different than a regular clip or barrette, is it’s flexibility. This clip can do so many different styles because it can hold various amounts of hair. From a half do shown above, to a french twist, and various other updo’s. The flexi-8 comes in many different sizes, plus each clip has 3 different groves in the end where it can fit to 3 slightly different sizes. I’m sure this sounds pretty complicated, but I have found that I can do anything I want with my hair with two sizes, medium or large. I consider myself to have pretty thick hair. When I get my haircut at a hair salon I always get comments along the lines of “Wow, you have a LOT of hair!” or “Well, you will never have to worry about your hair thinning, because if it does you’ll just be thankful.” I’ve always figured that getting such remarks out of hair stylists – people who deal with hair day in and day out, is a pretty strong sign that my hair is really as thick as I feel it is. So I think for most people they would probably be more along the lines of a small for half up’s and mediums for full, but it will of course vary by person.

My favorite way to wear the flexi-8 is the way shown above. here it is on me in this way.

I have thick enough hair that traditional barrettes that women use to put up half of their hair, will only hold up a very thin section of my hair, so I can’t really use them. Another benefit of flexi-8 clips over traditional ones, is they come in a large variety of styles, some that are very dressy and would be great for weddings, family holidays, going to work, etc. While others are very casual – some even have little turtles or dolphins in the middle. Some that I was sent can go either way which I think is the best because they can be used everyday.

Here are some hairstyles that the flexi-8’s can be used for

So as you can tell these are really versatile! Overall I really love the flexi-8’s that I was sent. While analyzing them for review, I was thinking that if I were purchasing a flexi-8, I wouldn’t have bought one of each size, like was sent to me, and I wondered how I would decide which size is best from a website, and also what to do if I ordered the wrong size. I looked this up, and they have an awesome sizing guide and their website also states that they have “no hassle returns and exchanges.” Which is a must for me, when buying anything online, just because you can never know for sure.
