I was sent this book free for the purposes of review, through goodreads.com. I was given an advance readers addition – meaning I was given this book to read before it was actually released in stores, which is really neat.

When I am sent products for review, I write down the date they arrive, in order, so that I am sure to review the products on my blog in the order I received them. This one got pushed back a bit, which is a first for me, but I was hoping to read more of this book and just haven’t been able to do it. I am admittedly not a big reader, and I have adhd, which I believe probably leads to my horrible habit of reading 1/4 of a book and then never continuing. It’s very easy for a book to bore me once I get part way in, but before the book gets to the main story. This was probably a poor book for me to choose because I am not usually into thrillers, but this one interested me a lot from the description so I decided to try it, but people who enjoy thrillers could easily disagree with me. I didn’t stop reading the book because it was a boring idea – the main idea is there are twin sisters, who grow up in different homes, one with the biological mother and one without. One is a lawyer and one is a bit…lost. This ‘lost’ sister decides to escape her past by killing her twin sister who is a lawyer, then taking her lawyer-sisters place for a few days, just long enough to make everyone think that the dead sister is not the lawyer but herself. However, the lost sisters attempt to kill her sister isn’t successful, instead she buries her sister alive. The buried sister decides that she will live, if only to get revenge on her twin for trying to kill her.

As you can tell, this is a very interesting theme, but for some reason I just couldn’t keep going as my interest just wasn’t there. What I did like about this book is it has very short chapters, which is nice because then I just remember the chapter instead of trying to remember which page, and where at on the page, etc. However, perhaps this also makes it easier to stop sooner and lay the book down. Not sure. I did feel a bit of confusion about which sister was which, because very early on, the ‘lost’ sister is pretending to be the other sister. So not only are you dealing with sisters and twins, there’s also the confusion of how the one sister is being called by her sisters name, because everyone thinks that’s who she is…yet she’s just pretending and it’s not really her. Other than that though it’s an alright book, and I don’t really feel that it’s the authors fault I got bored, as I mentioned it’s an interesting theme, I just am not the right reader for the book I guess.

However, I would like to thank goodreads for sending me this free book for review, I appreciate it and look forward to getting more reviews from goodreads.com.
