There’s so much to say about this blanket. When it first arrived, I was surprised at how it seemed thin. However, I feel in love with it the first night we used it. The blanket is somewhat thin, and reminds me much more of a quilt feeling than a regular blanket. Perhaps this is partially because there is a lot of stitching in teh blanket, which creates squares/diamond shapes that repeat for the entire blanket, which helps keep the filling evenly spread out which is really nice.
I am one of those people who has to sleep with a big blanket, year round. I can’t go blanket-less, or just sleep with a sheet or thin blanket. I have to have a blanket or I can’t fall asleep. However, this obviously is not the best habit to have when you live in Michigan, in the summer anyway. I can’t say that this blanket keeps us at a perfectly balanced temperature, but it definitely helps. We’ve had this blanket for about a month and although we’ve had 7-10 days or so that have been summer-like so far, I haven’t woken up sweaty, though I have woken up feeling uncomfortably warm. I asked Ryan if he has woken up sweaty and he hasn’t either, but he did also mention that he has woken up too warm a few times. So it’s not perfect but it certainly helps a lot.
I have washed this blanket twice and it hasn’t yet shown any signs of wear or had any issues at all. This blanket is anti-static which was really obvious when it came out of the dryer. Until this blanket I had never pulled a blanket out of the dryer without it having at least a small amount of static.
I occasionally have allergy problems, but I never really know when I’ll start battling them. This blanket is chemical free and is designed to help allergy sufferers gain some relief. Seems how my allergies seem to be somewhat random, I can’t say for sure that this blanket has helped me but I can say that I haven’t had any allergy problems in the month or so that we’ve been using this blanket, so maybe that’s part of why.
