So we got back from Grand Haven on Wednesday. We had lots of fun while we were there though! It was super busy on both days, but the 4th was the worst of course. Our campsite was just on sand, so there was sand all in the tent and all over EVERYTHING basically. So it felt good to get home and take a shower and feel better. We of course took showers while we were there, but had to walk through sand to get back to our tent, so. It only did so much good.
There was a ‘red flag’ warning the whole time we were there, and the waves were SO big.
It definitely wouldn’t have been safe for young kids or even bigger kids and smaller adults, really. Biggest waves I’ve ever seen. We would go stand at about waist deep and waves would come that were well over my head that would completely sweep me off my feet! I wouldn’t have done it if I didn’t have Ryan with me, but it was so much fun.
Sadly, some parents were either unaware of how dangerous it was or something, because on the 4th a child went missing.
They had workers go around in golf carts telling people the childs information and telling them to keep an eye out. The next day there were news station vans with reporters out making a news report from the beach, so although we haven’t heard for sure we assumed the child is still missing. I tried to find news reports on it but nothing came up. Really sad.
Anyway we had a lot of fun but at the same time we were really glad to get home. It had been SUPER hot when we were there, which was nice because it forced us to live in the lake. But was really uncomfortable at night and we wound up throwing away all the food we had brought and buying fast food on the last day we were there because we had problems buying ice fast enough, and were afriad the food we brought would be spoiled, so we made the safer choice to just throw it all out.
We were suppose to move yesterday but we were still tired from camping, and then today it rained so we’re moving tomorrow, finally. I also have a dress fitting for my bridesmaids dress for my cousins wedding. So I probably won’t get a post in tomorrow. I hope you all had a great 4th! I’ll most likely be back sometime Saturday.

The lake looks like a lot of fun. We were up that way last year for vacation in Muskegon. We really enjoyed it. And you know, the waters were very choppy most of the week for us too. I know it happens sometimes. Too bad about the child missing, though.
This year we’re going for vacation along the other side of Lake Michigan to Sturgeon Bay, WI. We leave late next week.
I hope that you’re having a great weekend! 😀
