Gentle Cycle Pads

Gentle Cycle Pads

A couple of months ago I made the switch to cloth pads. I bought my stash from various etsy stores and somehow missed gentle cycle pads. I was thrilled to get an email from Cindy, the shop owner of gentle cycle pads who wanted to know if I would review her pads on my blog. Of course I would! One of my favorite things about her pads is the price. Most of them average out to about 5.00 but if you buy a 4 pack they are only 20, so just 4.00 a piece! I paid an average of 6 dollars a piece for mine. The pad I received is well stitched and very cute! It is a bit thicker than the other pads I have bought, but not by very much. Although it’s thicker than the other pads I have bought it still is far from feeling bulky or uncomfortable. I had read online that it’s a bad idea to try pads that have stitching on the main part of the pad. I had read that if the absorbent part of the pad has been stitched through it can cause leaks. So when I saw that the pad had more stitching on the main part of the pad than the other pads I had used, I was worried it might leak. I regularly checked the underside of the pad to see if it would soak through the stitched area first. It didn’t!

With other pads, I have had this problem with pads where they are stitched onto the area where the wing meets the main pad. However with the gentle cycle pad it was not a problem at all which was great. I have only used this pad once so far so I can’t say for sure but it did seem to last me longer than my other pads, so I think the slightly thicker design allows for it to be more absorbent which is great for people who have a heavier flow.

I am a small girl and used to buy the ‘petite’ version of always brand pads (they come in a pink wrapper). They aren’t sold all over though so if they weren’t available i’d buy the small always pads which come in a yellow wrapper. These pads are comparable to the small pads which is nice because it’s really uncomfortable and unleasent to wear pads that are way too long, which is often a problem for me. However she does make longer pads (around 10 inches long) for people who prefer those. She makes pads with and without wings, as well as pantyliners. She also makes cloth nursing pads.

I hand washed this pad and it came clean without any issues. Overall I feel like the pad is great quality and I love the price!
