It’s my personal beleif that every small child should own a superman/super girl cape. Especially if they are a boy. Pretend play is such a fun and important part of the preschool years but unfortunately it can be hard to find ‘boy’ pretend play outfits. My 4 year old nephew loves to wear his old Halloween costumes for play, and sometimes uses blankets or towels as a superhero cape, which is definitely cute, but once I heard of power capes I knew they were cuter and he needed one. Power capes is a company that makes all types of superhero gear, including capes (for little kids, big kids and adults!), t shirts, masks and more. You can get plain colored capes if you’d like, or capes with just an emblem, or custom capes where you pick your emblem (a shield shape, star, heart, etc) plus a letter.
I was sent a custom cape for review. I was able to choose from 11 different colors for the cape, 8 different symbols for the emblem (plus the option of no emblem), and 9 different colors for the letter color. I love the huge variety of options, which allows your child’s cape to fit their personality and preferences. The cape is nice and shiny and feels thick and durable. I was surprised at how large the cape was. I imagine capes to be around waist length, but this cape hits my 4 year old nephews on his calves, so it’s a full body cape which makes it much more fun. It also makes the cape more versatile because I can wear it and it hits me about waist length. I love how the cape widens out as it goes down, which causes the wind to catch the ends of the cape if kids walk quickly, run or if the wind is blowing. The cape attaches with velcro, unlike some other capes that I have seen which require buttoning, which can be harder for little fingers to manipulate. Power Capes is located in the metro Detroit area, which I love! Soon power capes will be opening up orders for custom tutus as well.
Buy it: You can purchase a cape from powercapes online at powercapes.com.

SO fun! I totally agree with you, every kid needs a cape, they just make you feel good to wear them, right? Speaking of which, I want to see a picture of you in this one! 🙂
