For many moms, swaddling is a good friend that allows them to sleep more at night. For the first couple of weeks of life, regular receiving blankets work great for swaddling, but all too quickly babies get too big to be swaddled with receiving blankets and goodbyes are said to swaddling. Unless mom and dad know that Swaddle Designs makes big receiving blankets for swaddling, making them a great option for swaddling bigger babies. A popular baby brand sells receiving blankets that they say are ‘generously sized’ that are 30 inches by 30 inches. The swaddle designs blankets are 42 by 42 and 46 by 46! Swaddle Designs was generous enough to offer me a review, and when the package arrived I tore into the box and had to pause for a second. The inner box was covered in perfectly folded tissue paper, with a handwritten thank you note and swaddle designs sticker. I love companies who take pride in the appearance of their shipped products, it always makes me smile to open a well wrapped, personable package. I would feel great ordering from swaddle designs and shipping the package directly to someone as a gift because it’s wrapped so well. I was sent a swaddle duo set, which includes a cotton flannel blanket and a cotton marquisette blanket. This set would make a great gift set for any new mom, regardless of when she’s due because the two blankets prepare mom for swaddling her baby at any time, regardless of the weather. The flannel blanket is great for moderate to cooler temperatures, while the marquisette blanket is great for warmer temperatures. Temperature control is important for babies, and when babies are kept at a comfortable temperature for them, research has found that the risk of sids decreases. Swaddle Designs believes in staying updated and informed about sleep safety information for babies. You can check out their safe sleep guide online at SwaddleDesigns.com/safe-sleep. Both blankets are really soft and feature a tag that has a step by step swaddling instructions, in case baby gets left with a less experienced or slightly forgetful sitter…or if you’re your mind goes blank at 3am from sleep deprivation ;). Swaddle designs also offers an online guide to swaddling at SwaddleDesigns.com/how-to-swaddle.
