I’m a college student, I live in a small apartment and I have adhd. These factors make organization a big issue for me. I have a natural tendancy to leave things cluttered, so I am always looking for products and advice that will teach me how to declutter various parts of my life.

We keep a large file folder basket where we organize all of our paper copies of important documents. Some of them are really important, and when we had a small fire a year and a half ago it occured to me that we could really be hurting if our documents were burned in a fire or something similar. At the time I wasn’t aware of about one, and hwo they offer a digital filing system and more. At aboutone.com you can save all kinds of information about your family and household where ti is accessible from any computer. That way, even if you lose your house in a fire, or experience a tornado or other disaster, you will still have your important information such as medical history, health insurance policy numbers, and more. You can even create a virtual baby book. For each member of the family you can input milestones or memories as they happen, or you can add memories from the past as well. There’s a whole section for health related information such as health insurance, doctors appointments, family doctor information, allergies, current medications, shot records and more. This is a great resource for all people, but could be particularly useful for parents with special needs children who have a long list of medications, past hospital stays, etc.

For college students or parents with children, there’s an education section that lets you input school contact information, awards recieved, and more. Of course, there’s also an online adgenda list where you can add birthday parties, sports schedules, play dates, etc. Being adhd myself, an agenda is a must! However, it can be a pain to haul around the book itself because I tend to throw it in my purse for convenience but then it folds and the pages get bent and it’s just a mess. The aboutone agenda is more convenient because I can use it from a school comptuer or at home without having to haul a book around.

Aboutone is a great place to start if you’re trying to figure out how to get organized. You can try a free trial of aboutone before you commit to buy a year long package. The trial lasts for 17 days and don’t expire so you can use them whenever you’d like. If you decide to go for a full year it costs 30.00.

This sounds like an interesting and valuable service. Hate to say it, but I need to get organized before I could take advantage of it.
