The 10.00 amazon gift card winner is #91

I had to rechoose the winner at least 10 times because SO many of you simply said “gfc follower” but did not leave your GFC username. How can I verify an entry if you don’t leave your display name? This gets sooo frustrating for me because I see it every time I end a giveaway. I would imagine that other bloggers have extremely similar rules as I do. If you follow on gfc, twitter, facebook, email, whatever it is, you HAVE to leave your username or email so that we can verify. You’re really wasting your time by entering if you don’t leave enough info.
The winner of the jenny’s treasures for you giveaway is #38

Congrats! Jennifer will be emailing you soon!

I agree with Crystal. I’m guilty of failing to leave my GFC name for the very reason that it’s the same as what I use for entering.
Perhaps you could design a very simple statement that FB, Twitter & GFC entries must include user name and have it right at the beginning of the extra entries. -
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I rarely specify my GFC name because it’s RIGHT THERE. Like, I don’t specify ‘I’m entering this contest’ because I figure that’s understood. I wonder how many times that has kept me from winning something??
(I always specify my other user names because they aren’t part of my profile.)
GFC name: Heather! 🙂

Okay I understand that you can’t just click on our name and see everything, but if the name we put in the comment is the same as the one we are entering with couldn’t you have just used the same search method?
-
yes, it’s the same search process but I have several followers and it’s possible that I might have multiple ‘betty’ followers. one might be Betty, another Betty C and another betty carter. So if I don’t know for sure which of those might be you, it’s a more difficult search process. It’s much more helpful to have clarification that says “my username IS…” so I know exactly what I’m looking for. Plus there are people who comment with their first name might be Jessica but then their GFC name is catlover94 or whatever. So in that scenario I might go searching through 10 different jessica’s in my followers and none of them are even the person. So that’s the reason for the rule. I apologize that it does require a bit more work on your end.

Thanks for the explanation. Since I don’t do giveaways I’m not very familiar with all the difficulties in choosing a winner.
It reminds me of one blogger who was fairly new to giveaways and she was using a form where we could enter our email address. Then she wanted an email address in the comment area too. She finally learned how to find the email address on her end so it wasn’t necessary in the comments. -
You know, I never even considered that it would be different to figure out if someone’s a GFC follower on WordPress. I’ll try to remember to include my name from now on.

Thank you!! I’m so excited to have won the gift certificate!!!

Congratulations, Joni and Kinberly. Enjoy.

I would assume most people skip leaving the name because their GFC follower name is the same as what they put in the Name field above.
