In "room temp" mode it shows me the temp outside

Have you ever found yourself in the doctors office or perhaps in triage at urgent care and the nurse tries to place the thermometer under your tongue and it jabs you? It’s happened to me countless times and it hurts enough that it makes me nervous when I see that the nurse is going to take my temperature. Sometimes I awkwardly try to take it out of her hand so that I can place it myself – after all, I am fully capable of placing it myself. I have wondered before how often children get hurt when their parents attempt to place the thermometer under their child’s tongue as well. Perhaps that’s part of the reason why kids don’t like having their temperature taken? Kidz-Med has come up with a great solution which is their non-contact thermometer. To use it you simply make sure that it’s in the “body” mode and then hold it aproximately 2-3 inches away from your child’s forehead and wait for a reading. It’s important to use the thermometer on the forehead and from the correct distance, or it will give you an inaccurate reading. When used as directed it is accurate within .2 degrees Celsius making it just as accurate as standard thermometers. It’s much faster than the traditional 60 second under the tongue thermometers that I’m used to. This makes it great to use on sleeping children or children who are afraid of or dislike traditional thermometers. It also has a “surface” mode and a “room” mode, which allow you to use it to determine the room temperature or the temperature of a table top or other surface. It comes with a special storage bag so you could even tuck it away in a diaper bag in case you are on the go and get wondering if your child is feeling okay. I have a feeling that non-contact thermometers will only get more and more common as time goes by. They are much more convenient and comfortable.
