Learning that PNY has a 2TB flashdrive made me feel old. The only time I ever stood in line for a store to open on a Black Friday, was the year I was 19 years old. I wanted a 1TB external hard drive for my boyfriend, but as a college kid money was tight so waiting in line for a good deal is what I did that year!
That external hard drive was small enough to fit in a backpack for sure, but it wouldn’t have ever fit in a pocket. So the fact that flash drives are now capable of storing 2TB is just, mind-blowing to me. The full name is the PNY DUO LINK™ V3 USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C® OTG Flash Drive.
This flashdrive has really impressive speeds of up to 1000MB/s read and up to 800MB/s write. You can transfer large video files much faster than you could with most other thumb drives. Or, you could work on files from the drive without transferring them directly onto your PC, and not experience the type of lag you’d usually expect if trying to edit a file that was in an external drive. This drive can be plugged in two ways – with the more modern USB-C port, or the traditional USB-A port. If you use the USB-C side, it’s capable of faster speeds.
The flashdrive has a neat metal swivel design, making it easy to access either end of the flashdrive and making it really compact. It’s so easy to take along with you anywhere you need to go.
With these two types of USB types, this flash drive can be used to connect with most modern Android phones (ones that have USB-C), iPhone 15 and newer, and most laptops or other computers.
As a content creator, I have a lot of photos and videos that I often need to move around from one place to another. Having a really fast flashdrive that allows me to move files rapidly reduces my stress levels. The PNY DUO LINK flashdrive isn’t just for content creators though! It would come in handy for most anyone who works from a computer, anyone who takes a lot of photos or videos on their phone, and wants a place to back them up or wants to free up space on their device.
If you aren’t someone who uses a lot of video, you may not need as much storage. This drive comes in 2TB, 1TB, 512GB and 256GB, at different price points so you can find the size that fits your needs and your budget.
