Luminaze is a brand of Syneron Beauty, Inc., a subsidiary of Syneron Medical Ltd. Syneron is a leader in the development of aesthetic devices and treatments that can be used in the comfort of the consumer’s home rather than in a professional setting.

Luminaze is made up of an enzyme that is found in mushrooms that grow in the Swiss Alps. These mushrooms grow in trees and it was discovered that the bark around these mushrooms was a different color than the bark that was not immediately surrounding the mushrooms. This same result is found when Luminaze is used on our skin. The Luminaze enzyme breaks down the melanin that causes those annoying dark spots. It’s a gentle and safe treatment and only affects the dark spots caused by the extra melanin. Your normal skin color is not affected…only the areas with excess pigment.

Luminaze is not tested on animals and does not contain Hydroquinone (banned in some countries), therefore doesn’t have any of the negative side effects of Hydroguinone but is as effective (in fact it’s more effective). Luminaze is fast acting also. The lightening of skin color has been noticed in as little as 7 days when the product is used correctly.

For our review, we were sent the Catalytic Skin Tone Illuminator. This product is to be applied to a clean face twice a day (once each morning/evening). It is safe for all skin types, is hypoallergenic and fragrance free. My skin will sometimes react to products (breakouts, itchy rashes, redness) and I didn’t experience any of this after using the Catalytic Skin Tone Illuminator.

I can not honestly say that I can see my spots getting significantly lighter but I haven’t been using the product as often as I am supposed to. There have been days when I’ve applied my makeup and then realized that I didn’t use the illuminator. I have now placed the product in my makeup bag so there’s no way I can forget to use it every morning. Speaking of the container that this product comes in, I want to also add that it is very easy to use (pump action), it doesn’t squirt in some random direction so I’m wasting product, and the perfect amount is dispensed every time.

You can find Luminaze on their website, Facebook, twitter, and Youtube pages.
