With 3 and 5 year old Daughters, we listen to a lot of kids music. We recently discovered Hope Harris and really enjoy her creative lyrics.
Hope was born in Virginia. She is a University of Virginia graduate. Hope has worked in theater on and off Broadway. It was during a theater production that she recorded a children’s lullaby CD, called Julie the Starfish and Other Lullabies; it was a huge success for Hope.
As Hope took on a new role, parenthood, she found a new creative motivation with the need to entertain her Sons. With this encouragement, she created a CD titled Cousins Jamboree. In 2011, Hope won the Parents’ Choice Silver Honor Award for this CD.
For our review, we received Hope’s latest CD called Picasso, That’s Who! (And So Can You!) . This is an educational and fun CD. Hope sings about art and some of our greatest artists. Each of the songs has a different feel from Spanish, rock, bluegrass, jazz, and more. Our favorite song is the first one, Picasso, That’s Who. This song has a fun rock beat to it. Lyrics celebrate the creativity that Picasso showed in his art work and encourage children to make their own masterpieces. Hopes CD did just what she wanted it to, it got my Daughters asking about the artists in the songs.
Picasso, That’s Who! (And So Can You!) is designed for children ages 3 – 10. Its running time is 33 minutes.
You can find Hope Harris on her website and facebook page.
Hello, my name is Laurie. My family and I live near the Oregon coast. When we aren’t at work, in school, or on the volleyball court, we enjoy traveling, cheering for our favorite sports teams, playing outdoors, and checking off items on our bucket list. We are lucky in that both sets of our parents, as well as our siblings and their families, live within an hour of us. We get together often to help one another out, celebrate milestones, and go on adventures together.
