Food SHOULD taste good. If food that is good for you tastes good, too, then it is a win-win situation. Food Should Taste Good is a chip company unlike any other of which I am aware. They have several varieties of chips that I have never heard of before and all are healthy, gluten-free, cholesterol-free and do not use GMOs (genetically modified ingredients). They are also certified kosher and many of the types of chips are vegan, so they are great for people who follow special diets. I had heard of their company, but never seen any of their chips in my area so it was really cool when they offered to send me 5 bags of chips in any of the varieties they offer for a review. I chose Hemp, The Works, BBQ Sweet Potato, Kettle Corn, and Chocolate. Each was unique and tasty.

The hemp chips were great! They are made with a mixture of blue corn and hemp seeds. They are very nutty and crisp. Hemp seeds are a great addition to any diet as they contain all the essential amino acids a person’s body needs as well as essential fatty acids….and, no, they don’t contain the parts of the plant that could get one “high.” They are a great complete food and taste great, too. It is relatively rare to find them in foodstuffs in my living area, so I was happy to be able to find these chips and also happy to be able to know I can purchase the chips online. They are a tasty chip on their own, but I ate them with some hummus and really enjoyed the nutty combination.

The Works Chips are full of flavour and really are reminiscent of an “everything” bagel. They have onion, garlic, poppy and caraway seeds. The texture was nice and paired easily with a spinach dip that I made. If you like everything bagels, you should certainly give these chips a try.

My favorite of all the chips had to be the BBQ Sweet Potato. I had never thought of pairing those 2 flavours together, but it works out to be a fantastic chip. It was thicker than I am used to sweet potato chip being and I liked it. It had a great crunch and I think more companies should make the flavour combination as it works. And at 150 calories a serving, I don’t even have to feel guilty for enjoying them.

The Kettle Corn was good and I had also never heard of anyone making this type of chip before. They were sweet, but not cloyingly so and my kids really enjoyed them. I had really chosen them for the kids because my kids love kettle corn popcorn and it really does taste like that, so it was a success for them. I am not a huge fan, but I have never really liked any kind of popcorn flavour.

The kids’ hands down favorite was the Chocolate chips which are made from corn and cocoa. I love a good mole’ sauce, so I thought these would be great paired with some kind of spicy salsa and for me that turned out to be untrue. I didn’t really like them. They were sweeter than I thought they would be. On their website they suggest different sweet serving suggestions and I made the Chocolate chips for my kids with peanut butter and bananas. They adored it. So if you don’t go into it thinking that these chips will be savoury, you will probably really enjoy them.

You can find out more about what types of chips they carry and other information on their website and facebook pages. Right now on their facebook page they are celebrating 100 Days of Summer by giving away prizes everyday in addition to a weekly giveaway!

Besides believing that food should taste good, the company also believes that food should DO good and they donate money and products to many organizations. In that vein, they are also passing along some of this goodness to one of our readers. They are offering you a choice of 5 bags of chips. All you have to do to enter is fill out the widget below. US only and the contest ends 7/4.
