I am a reader and a writer. I have been for as long as I can remember. I have kept a journal for the last 30 years. It is a great way to let out my emotions and a cool way to see where my head was at in any given time period. So when Journal 10+ offered to send me one of their journals I was stoked. Their journals are really cool in that it records a whole decade of one’s life. I chose to give it to my daughter as she just turned 11 and the next decade will really be something interesting for her to remember.

There is only a small amount of space to write in every day, so it is not for the verbose. There are 4 lines for each day. So it is geared towards folks who want to jot just a bit down everyday. There are also “Carryover” pages for when 4 lines just aren’t enough for what you need to express. There is a “Looking Ahead” section that allows you to state goals for your upcoming year. As a student working on her Masters in Library and Information Sciences, I found I was quite impressed with the binding. It is some kind of leatherette and seems very durable. It seems as if it will last the decade it was meant for and beyond. My daughter really likes that it includes a phone book/ address book to keep track of things like that. She likes to keep track of people’s birthdays and such so that is quite a boon for her. It is nice to have such information in hard-copy instead of an easily lost digital form that we are so wont to rely upon in this day and age. One is also able to keep track of periodic instances such as doctor’s appointments and car maintenance.
