I had a friend as a child who had a little brother. They had a finished basement and it was essentially lego-land down there. While I wasn’t a huge lego enthusiast myself, I remember thinking that they must feel so special to share such a neat interest with their dad who was really good at making most anything out of legos. Even for non-lego enthusiasts its really awesome to see life size lego models because it’s incredible how much time and effort goes into them and how neat they look. This summer there is a lego Brickation event that is stopping at four places in the US, and from june 6th-july17th you can check it out in Traverse City. If you haven’t been to Traverse City, you’re missing out because it’s a gorgeous place to take a trip to and relax for a few days.
The event is entirely free and in addition to being able to see life size models at the event, there will be enough legos for everyone to build with (even a duplo area for the little guys!) and you can even challenge friends or family members on a lego race ramp! You can check it out each day between 10am and 8pm. The address for the event is 300 E. Front Street; Traverse City, MI 49686.
I’m not sure if we are going to get up to the area or not this summer, but if we do we will be sure to stop and check it out. I love that it is a free event, making it a great, affordable way to get the kids out of the house this summer.
