SpaGirlSoaps is an Etsy shop that offers handmade soap, bath and spa products. I’ve been hanging around Etsy for about 4 years now and bath bombs are something that I had no idea existed until I discovered Etsy. For a long time I have been curious about them but never got around to trying them until I recently tried out a Spagirlsoaps bath bomb. Most of the bath bombs offered at spa girl soaps are 1oz though some are 4oz and others are 8oz. There are tons of scents to choose from as well. A few of my favorites include cotton candy, cookies & cream, and sugar cookie.

When you put a bath bomb into your bath water it begins to fizzle – almost like alkaseltzer or something. You are able to smell the fragrance in the air but it’s fairly light. My 1oz bath bomb fizzled for a minute or so before dissolving. The water was slightly tinted and cloudy afterwards and I could tell that there was a difference in the water as well because my skin felt smoother. I am really sensitive to oily lotions, body washes, etc and I am in love with how the bath bomb left my skin feeling smooth and moisturized without being oily at ALL. I think I’m hooked on these.

It may sound pretty silly, but my hedgehog gets dry skin in the winter which causes him to scratch. In an attempt to cure this we use lotion or oil in his bathwater when we bathe him but it’s proven to be tricky to get the water moisturized without him being left looking greasy afterwards. With some products we’ve even had his quills stick together as a result of the products. I feel like using a bath bomb would be a nice solution to keeping his skin moisturized without making him oily. I plan to read up on the ingredients in the bath bombs to make sure that everything in them is safe for him as I’m not sure. However, spagirlsoaps makes it really easy to look into their ingredients because each of her items comes with a small tag that has a small description of the item you ordered as well as a list of ingredients.

The bath bombs I received have the following ingredients list:

Epson salt, citric acid, corn starch, colloidal oatmeal, baking soda, powdered milk, 7-oil blend of olive, almond, macadamia nut, avocado, jojoba, safflower, shea, mango & cocoa butter, vitamin E & fragrance.  I like how I can pronounce each of the ingredients – that’s certainly a rare find and says a lot about the benefits of natural products.

Bath bombs aren’t the only product offered at spa girl soaps, there are also kids items such as hello kitty designed soap, men’s items like cologne and manly smelling spa products and of course more items for women like bar soap, perfume and bath fizz.

The products each game wrapped in a pouch of plastic with a ribbon and tag – perfectly ready for being included in gift baskets, treat bags, stockings, etc. Be sure to keep these in mind during the holiday season. I know I would love to get some in my stocking!
